How to remove stretch marks

Striae (or stretch marks as they are more commonly known) can develop when an individual’s skin is stretched a lot over a short period of time : More accurately, the skin’s second layer gets torn by overstretching. The most common areas for stretch marks to develop are the stomach, breasts, thighs and hips. People of all ages can suffer from stretch marks and they affect a lot of individuals. Thankfully, they pose no health risks and are simply a cosmetic concern. Of course, these concerns grow in the warmer seasons as the amount of our bodies we show, increases.
What causes stretch marks?
This Stretching happens when the body expands at a rate which the skin can’t stretch quick enough to keep up with it. Stretch marks are most frequently associated with pregnancy but can develop during puberty: Body building or quick weight gain can also cause stretch marks.
Although skin is normally very elastic , when it stretches, the normal production of collagen is disrupted. collagen helps to keep skin tight and supple. There are some external factors which affect the collagen levels produced naturally by the skin such as a person’s diet or smoking. Collagen levels affect lines and wrinkles on the face. They also determine how other blemishes, like surgery scars and acne scars, heal.
What do stretch marks look like?
When they first form, stretch marks are reddish purple lines. They are indented and feel different to the rest of the skin. as they get older, the reddish purple colour subsides, turning a silvery colour. The ability to heal however does vary considerably from individual to individual.
Remove stretchmarks
Treatment for stretchmarks is possible either at home or by visiting an expert. Stretch mark treatments range enormously in price and effectiveness, treatments range from treatments brought in a shop to having expensive surgery For many people, stretch marks are embarrassing and stop people from being confident about their bodies, but this is overcome or greatly reduced by treatment to remove stretch marks.
Creams and oils are sold over the counter and are the chepest form of stretch marks removal however, not all creams work overall, creams are not the best stretch marks treatment. However, using creams with techniques such as skin needling, results in a much higher percentage of cream absorbed by the skin so this method is probably the most effective method for many individuals.
