Herbal medicines aren’t harsh to your skin because they are made from natural ingredients. Natural treatments for acne usually cost less, are less invasive, and actually work in most cases.

People all over the world are affected by acne. Some of these people will try many of the over-the-counter products which may contain harsh chemicals and only provide a temporary fix. As many people are now becoming aware of the hazards of chemical usage, many are looking for a natural way to treat their acne.

Natural treatments for acne can be in many different forms. Below are some herbs and herbal ingredients that you can use to treat acne.

Two natural herbal remedies you can use to treat acne are echinacea and tea tree oil. Both of these are very available. To help your immune system use Oregon grape oil and echinacea. Tea tree oil, which is known for its antiseptic and antifungal properties, is applied to the acne topically.

Anti-inflammatory herbs such as green tea, oatmeal, and chamomile help to soothe affected areas and help to let skin heal properly. Washing the affected part with oatmeal helps to reduce the itching sensation. Ginger, consumed in any form, reduces redness.

Acne scarring can be treated by using almond oil. Two natural exfoliates that help get rid of dead skin and help to free clogged pores are apricot and citrus juices.

To cleanse the skin, apply distilled white vinegar topically to the affected pores. A honey mask can help heal acne due to its antibacterial quailty.

There are many items you can use as natural treatments for acne. These items are widely available and relatively cheap, too.  Every person is different, so you may have to try several different things before you find what works for you.  The point is to never give up!
